The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic decided to make use of the potential of the global INSPIRELI AWARDS competition and, in the spirit of the ideas of the founders, launched a student idea contest with the Department of Architecture of the Czech Technical University
in Prague on a proposal for the Czech Republic‘s Embassy in Addis Ababa.
The aim of the competition was to support students in their professional development and give them the opportunity to participate in the creation of a representative project. The competition was conducted as part of the INSPIRELI AWARDS student competition, as its separate category with its own commissioning and an expert jury made up of leading architects, academics as well as representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. The interest in this prestigious project exceeded all the expectations of the contracting authorities. Over 470 students of 38 nationalities from each continent joined the competition, leaving the expert jury to select from an incredible 280 projects.
First prize is awarded to Kristína Boháčová and Jana Hájková, students of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, Faculty of Architecture.
All of Ethiopia‘s Embassy projects also competed as student work in the INSPIRELI AWARDS talent competition in the Architecture category.
